The City of Edinburgh Council and partner Housing Associations and Co-operatives let their houses through a choice based letting scheme called "EH Your Key to Choice".

Available properties are advertised each week here and in the Monday edition of the Edinburgh Evening News.

Free copies of the supplement are also available at all Local Neighbourhood Offices, Housing Association / Co-operatives offices and libraries. You can also surf the internet for free at your local library.

You may also see adverts from some landlords for mid market rent and shared ownership properties.

Mid Market Rent and Shared Ownership

Mid market rent and shared ownership properties are now being advertised through Key to Choice alongside the usual social rented properties.

The rents that apply for mid market rent properties are higher than social rented properties but are set below those in the private market to make these more affordable.

Shared ownership is a form of low cost home ownership that combines renting with buying. The purchaser owns a share of the home (normally 25%, 50% or 75%) and then rents the remaining part from a Housing Association.

Please note you must be registered with EdIndex before you can bid for any of the properties advertised. To register you can contact 0131 529 5080 and we will send you an application form.
