Young Persons Service - Housing Advice and Support
- Are you aged 16 or 17?
- Are you thinking about applying for a council house under Choice?
- Have you just been allocated a house under Choice?
If the answer is yes to any of the above then you could receive some good advice on your housing options or get some practical support with moving into and making a success of your new home.
The Young Persons Service project workers provide fair and confidential advice on your housing options, Choice, as well as other types of housing. They will talk to you openly and honestly about what is involved in taking on a council tenancy.
They will look at what you need and can discuss and work on a plan to prepare you for moving into a new council house. They can support you in your new home and help you to settle in. They can put you in contact with a range of useful contacts and services that can help you or that you may be interested in.
They can work with you on any problems in your new home and try and help you find solutions that work for you. At the end of our service, we want to leave you in control of your home and confident about managing your tenancy.
